About the profession
Automated production systems are full of electrical and electronic components and control elements. The work of electronics technicians is correspondingly important. They track down the cause of malfunctions – with the help of measuring and testing equipment and a great deal of specialist knowledge. And they are already active in advance: they help with the assembling of the lines, test them for correct functioning and adjust them.
Prerequisites for the training
- Qualified secondary school leaving certificate or intermediate school leaving certificate
- Craftsmanship, diligence and perseverance
- Technical understanding
- Good grades in math and physics
- Spatial and color vision
Training content
- Assembling, wiring and testing electrical and electromechanical components to form component groups
- Laying and connecting cables
- Exhibition of current quantities
- Assemble, set up, monitor and maintain automated production equipment
- Diagnose and rectify malfunctions
