Using a high-performance roving cutter, glass rovings are cut precisely to the desired length and evenly distributed over the backing material at a specified basis weight. The application of thermoplastic adhesive powder then ensures optimal adhesion and stability during the subsequent lamination process — it is also possible to produce glass mats without a backing.
