Mechatronics engineer
About the profession
The combination of mechanical systems and electronics is already clear from the job title. Mechatronics engineers work at the interface between mechanical systems, hydraulic systems and pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic and IT control techniques. With their cross-sectional qualification, they are used in mechanical and plant engineering. They have a correspondingly diverse range of jobs: on assembly sites, in workshops or as service staff.
Prerequisites for the training
- Qualified secondary school leaving certificate or intermediate school leaving certificate
- Technical understanding

Training content
- Reading and understanding technical bases
- Assemble component groups and components into complex systems
- Installing, commissioning and testing devices, machines and lines as well as searching for and rectifying malfunctions
- Set up and test pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems controls
- Complete orders independently
